As important as star power is, what’s key to walking away with cash in Draft Kings is the value picks. Here’s a look at Basketball Insiders’ five best value plays for Monday evening:

Jimmy Butler (Chicago Bulls – SG) Price: $7,400, Average fantasy points per game: 36.9
It’s no secret that Jimmy Butler has exploded this season and at $7,400 he only costs $1,200 more than the average you have to spend on each spot. Based on the fact that he produces more like a guy priced at $9-10,000, he’s a must start against a young Utah Jazz team.

Joakim Noah (Chicago Bulls – C) Price: $7,200, FPPG: 30.4
Both Noah and Pau Gasol ($7,300) are underpriced in today’s league based on their projected production. The Jazz’s big men have gotten a lot better, but this is an instance where going with experience over youth should pay off. Noah’s production could slip slightly with Gasol’s return (he’s missed the last three games), but he should still easily out-perform his price tag.

Trevor Ariza (Houston Rockets) Price: $6,100 FPPG: 28.7
Ariza is playing with a real chip on his shoulder this season and with Dwight Howard still in question, he’s a good pick up against the team that originally drafted him. The Knicks are a serious work in progress right now, setting the stage for Ariza to feast on them.

Evan Fournier (Orlando Magic – SG) Price: $5,000, FPPG: 25.8
Fournier has been one of the most improved players so far this season, and with Tobias Harris’ status in question for tonight’s game against the Cavaliers, he’s a must start. Fournier has been explosive offensively, evident by the 21 points he put up against Charlotte on Friday, and should be able to have more success against the Cavaliers’ lackluster defense than he did on Saturday against the Miami HEAT where he only managed 11 points.

Amare Stoudemire (New York Knicks – PF) Price: $4,800, FPPG: 24.5
At 4,800 Stoudemire is worth the gamble. In order to win in Draft Kings, you have to roll the dice on some lower priced players in order to pick up some of the stars shown above and Stoudemire has really been impressive lately. He’s coming off of a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds in just 20 minutes of action last time out. If Dwight Howard is out, or still hobbling a bit, he could be in store for another big night.
