Drummond ‘Fine’ with Limited USA Role
On the floor for only four minutes in Tuesday’s 98-71 win over New Zealand, Drummond scored four points in eight minutes in the Americans’ 106-71 win over Dominican Republic on Wednesday. But he pitched a goose egg in four minutes of playing time in today’s 95-71 win over Ukraine in the Basketball World Cup.
“It’s fine; we’re winning basketball games, and that’s the most important part about this experience,” Drummond said when asked about his reduced role. “If I don’t get the opportunity to play, the coaching staff knows what they’re doing, and it just wasn’t the right time for me to be on the court.”
