Durant: I Don’t Need All-Star Votes to Validate Me
On the morning after the NBA announced the starters for this year’s All-Star Game, Thunder forward Kevin Durant on Friday didn’t express any shock or disappointment at not being voted in by the fans.
“I’m always motivated,” Durant said. “I don’t need an All-Star vote to validate me as a player. This my eighth year in the league. I’ve been on All-Star teams before and I’ve done things in this league so I don’t need that to validate me as a player. It is what it is. I understand.”
