Griffin: We’ll Keep Trying to Get Ray Allen
The Cavaliers have finalized their full 20-man roster for training camp, although they’re willing to make room for one more.
Veteran point guard A.J. Price was signed to a one-year deal on Monday, capping the Cavs’ training camp roster while they wait on a decision from Ray Allen.
Neither Allen nor his representatives have given any indication whether or not he’ll play this season, but the Cavs privately are hopeful he’ll elect to play again and choose Cleveland. A final decision from Allen, however, may not come until after training camp begins next week.
“I don’t think we’d ever give up on [Allen],” Cavs General Manager David Griffin said Monday from the team’s golf outing at Firestone Country Club. “Until he signs, that’s going to be a target for everybody.”
