Hawks F/C Antic has broken nose

Atlanta Hawks forward-center Pero Antic will miss the preseason opener against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday because of a broken nose.

The Hawks announced that Antic broke his nose during practice on Thursday in Athens, Ga. He had surgery Friday in Atlanta.

Antic averaged 7.0 points and 4.2 rebounds as a rookie last season, including 26 starts. He took over at center when Al Horford sustained a season-ending injury.
