Atlanta Hawks guard John Jenkins underwent successful surgery on his lower back, the team announced Monday.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Hal Silcox of the Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic.

Jenkins is out for the rest of the season. After a period of rest and recovery, he will receive treatment and rehabilitation.

Jenkins averaged 3.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in 12.2 minutes over 13 games this season, his second in the NBA.
