Heat waives four, cuts roster to 15

The Miami Heat reduced its roster to 15 players on Saturday by waiving forward Khem Birch, guard Larry Drew II, guard Tyler Johnson and forward Shawn Jones.

Birch appeared in six games with the Heat in the preseason and averaged 1.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.17 blocked shots, 1.0 assists, 1.00 steals and 16.9 minutes.

Drew, who was signed as a free agent on Oct. 20, did not appear in a game for Miami.

Johnson appeared in one preseason game, totaling 17 points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists in 36:13 minutes against San Antonio on Oct. 18.

Jones appeared in four preseason games and averaged 3.0 points, 3.0 rebounds in 16.5 minutes.
