Four-time NBA MVP LeBron James says Oklahoma City Thunder guard Kevin Durant deserves the award this year.
Durant is expected to be named MVP this week when the NBA makes its announcement.
“Much respect to him and he deserves it,” the Miami Heat forward said of Durant. “He had a big-time MVP season.”
Durant led the NBA in scoring at 32.0 points per game, and averaged 7.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists for the 59-23 Thunder.
James has been honored as MVP in each of the past two years. This regular season, he averaged 27.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists for the Heat, who went 54-28.
