LOS ANGELES — Guard Kobe Bryant missed his second consecutive game Sunday as Los Angeles Lakers coach Byron Scott chose to rest him again.

“Just my feeling that I wanted to give him another day (off),” Scott said before the Lakers met the Portland Trail Blazers at Staples Center.

Bryant sat out Friday’s 101-84 Lakers win over the Orlando Magic at Staples. He hasn’t played since Wednesday, when the Lakers were blitzed 114-89 by the Los Angeles Clippers.

Bryant, who also missed three games last month due to fatigue, did not travel with the team to Portland on Monday, when the Lakers lost 98-94 to the Trail Blazers. Scott refused to play him in back-to-back contests. A day earlier, Bryant had 20 points, six rebounds and six assists in 32 minutes in a 88-87 win over the Indiana Pacers. He hit the game-winning basket with 12.4 seconds remaining in the contest.

Los Angeles was 2-3 without Bryant entering Sunday’s game.
