Louisville F Harrell returning to school
Louisville forward Montrezl Harrell is returning to the school for his junior year.
Harrell, who is 6-foot-8, averaged 14 points and 8.4 rebounds per game last season.
“Been on my mind heavy but I love the feeling of being a Louisville cardinal an I will be wearing this for the next yr,” he wrote on Twitter Monday.
Coach Rick Pitino said he was “very excited to say the least” about Harrell’s decision to return, according to ESPN.com.
“He and Wayne (Blackshear) will be co-captains next season,” Pitino said. “I think he wants to come back and be a top-eight (draft) pick.”
Multiple NBA executives told ESPN that Harrell would have likely been taken between 15th and 25th in this year’s draft if he decided to leave school.
