Magic sign C Dedmon for rest of season

The Orlando Magic signed center Dewayne Dedmon for the remainder of the regular season Monday.

Dedmon originally signed the first of two 10-day contracts on Feb. 25.

Dedmon is averaging 2.3 points and 1.0 rebound in 2.0 minutes over three games with the Magic. He has played in 18 NBA games this season with the Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers and Magic, averaging 2.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 9.0 minutes per contest.

In 15 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League, Dedmon is averaging 15.2 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 2.33 blocks and 1.53 steals in 33.7 minutes.

The second 10-day contract of guard/forward Adonis Thomas expired. Thomas averaged 2.3 points and 1.0 rebound in 7.6 minutes over four games with the Magic.

Orlando’s roster is at 13 players.
