Mavs’ Chandler: Ready for Challenge of Playoffs
The demands on Tyson Chandler are greater than they were during his first stint with the Dallas Mavericks.
When the Mavs pulled off another trade to bring back the center — this time a pre-draft deal with the New York Knicks — Chandler returned to Dallas as a centerpiece. Unlike before, Chandler now must be a dominant force for the Mavs, slated as the 7-seed in the Western Conference, to make any realistic run in the playoffs.
“This team needs me more,” Chandler said. “I’m ready for the challenge. My thing is, I just want to go in healthy. I’ve been doing some extra preparation with the training staff, just gearing myself to get ready. If I go in healthy, I know what I’m capable of doing.”
