Patrick Ewing Patiently Awaits Head Coaching Job

(Patrick) Ewing has been frustrated at times by his inability to land a top job, but, when asked what it will take for Ewing to achieve his goal, (Steve) Clifford said, “I think it’s like anybody. It just takes one person to understand that he’s good.”

“I’m not even thinking about it or worrying about it,” Ewing said of his coveted job. “You know, I have a great opportunity here, working with a great guy in Steve, and we have a great coaching staff.

“All I can do is just make sure that I’m ready for when that opportunity does come. I get advice from not only Steve but the Van Gundys and everybody who I’ve worked for and played for. But whenever that opportunity comes, I feel that I’m ready and that I’m going to be successful.”
