The Detroit Pistons said Monday that MRI results on guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s left knee showed no structural damage and the injury was re-classified as a knee strain.

Caldwell-Pope will miss this week’s preseason games at Charlotte, Orlando and Atlanta and will be re-evaluated upon the team’s return to Detroit next week.

Caldwell-Pope suffered the injury during the third quarter of Sunday’s 91-89 preseason loss against the Washington Wizards.

Caldwell-Pope, a second-year player, was having a solid preseason, averaging 16.7 points.
