Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings underwent surgery Tuesday in New York on a ruptured left Achilles tendon.

The team said in an announcement that the repair performed at the Hospital for Special surgery by Dr. Martin O’Malley was successful.

There is no timetable on when Jennings will be able to return.

In 41 games this season, the 6-foot-1 Jennings averaged 15.4 points, 6.6 assists and 1.07 steals in 28.6 minutes.

The injury happened during an inbounds play with 1:03 left in the third quarter of a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. Jennings was guarding Bucks point guard Brandon Knight and was planting his left foot when he fell to the floor.
