Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov denied multiple reports that he is interested in selling the team.

Yahoo Sports and later ESPNNewYork.com reported Saturday that the Russian billionaire is listening to offers from potential buyers.

Later in the day, however, a spokesperson for Prokhorov said those reports are untrue.

“We have no interest in selling the team,” Prokhorov said through the spokesperson.

The reports came after former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer offered to pay $2 billion for the Los Angeles Clippers. The deal is still pending NBA approval.

According to Yahoo, Prokhorov is interested in at least finding out how much money the Nets and Barclays Center are worth on the open market. His thought is that the team and arena could go for an amount similar to the Clippers’ pending sale.

Prokhorov paid $223 million to become the Nets’ majority owner in May 2010. He currently owns 80 percent of the team and 45 percent of Barclays Center.

Forbes reported in January that the Nets were worth $780 million, which is the fifth-highest value in the NBA.
