The Minnesota Timberwolves are set to sign secound-round draft pick Glenn Robinson III to a guaranteed contract, Yahoo Sports reported Tuesday.

The No. 40 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft out of Michigan, Robinson would boost the Timberwolves’ roster to 16 players with guaranteed contracts and 18 players overall.

Robinson played for the Timberwolves’ summer league team and averaged 7.7 points and shot 39 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range.

Projected as a small forward in the NBA, Robinson faces competition at that spot with rookie Andrew Wiggins and Corey Brewer, Shabazz Muhammad and Robbie Hummel already on the roster.

The 6-foot-6 Robinson played two seasons at Michigan and averaged 13.1 points per game and shot 48.8 percent from the field and 30.6 percent on 3-pointers.
