Rivers: Clippers Haven’t Figured Out Hawes’ Role
Hailed by teammates as one of the most important offseason signings in all of basketball, (Spencer) Hawes hasn’t been consistently comfortable on the court with the Clippers.
Heading into Monday’s game, Hawes is averaging only 6.0 points a game. He’s playing only 17.7 minutes per game and hitting only 27.3 percent from 3-point range.
“I don’t think we’ve figured out the best way to use Spencer,” Coach Doc Rivers said. “Obviously, Spencer is a much better player. And he’s dealing with an injury, too.”
