BYU signed basketball coach Dave Rose to a contract extension through 2020.

Rose agreed to the five-year deal on Monday, athletic director Tom Holmoe said.

In 10 seasons with the Cougars, Rose has guided the Cougars to the NCAA Tournament seven times. BYU is 18-8 this season, and 250-86 in Rose’s tenure entering Thursday’s game against Saint Mary’s.

“He is an incredible leader and one of the best coaches in the country,” Holmoe said. “We are excited about the future of the basketball program.”
