Ryan Anderson Addresses Trade Rumors
One of the hottest names on this year’s trade rumor circuit is New Orleans Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson. The veteran will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and will likely demand a huge payday with the salary cap expected to rise close to $90 million.
As we approach today’s deadline, Anderson has been linked to almost half of the teams in the league in one way, shape or form. But the veteran is taking all of the hoopla in stride.
“I’m not going to read into it,” Anderson said, according to Jim Eichenhofer of NBA.com. “It’s part of the game. I’m not a newbie. They are rumors – I don’t [know] what’s legit or not.
“Up until this point, it’s still rumors. I’m not really trying to look into a bunch of information. I’m trying to be professional and do my job here. If I get a call [that a trade has happened], I get a call.”
Anderson is averaging 16.7 points and 5.9 rebounds on 38 percent shooting from three-point range in 51 appearances this season.
