J.R. Smith still has hope that Carmelo Anthony, his longtime teammate with the Nuggets and the Knicks, will decide to stay in New York as a free agent this summer.

“I mean, in my heart I believe he’ll still be here,” Smith said of Anthony, who didn’t play in either of the Knicks’ final two games after it was revealed Tuesday that he has a small tear in the labrum in his right shoulder. “It’s just a matter of him coming up with that decision.

“But I think he’s very unsatisfied, which he should be.”
