An NBA source said late Tuesday afternoon that discussions with other teams were “picking up” with the deadline looming Thursday at 3 p.m.

With a payroll of $44.6 million, the Sixers have plenty of cap room ($18.4 million) with which to take on the expiring contract(s) of luxury tax teams and add more coveted second-round picks (they have 16 in the next six drafts).
