San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard is expected to be out three to four weeks with a broken right hand, the team announced Thursday.

Leonard, who has a non-displaced fracture of the fourth metacarpal, is averaging 11.6 points and 6.1 rebounds this season. The injury was diagnosed after he underwent a CAT scan on Thursday morning.

Leonard was hurt during the first half of the Spurs’ 111-105 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night.

Teammate Danny Green is also sidelined for a month with a similar injury and center Tiago Splitter is also out with a shoulder issue.

“It’s a big loss for us,” Spurs guard Tony Parker said of Leonard. “We are already down Tiago and Danny, but everyone goes through injuries and we have to deal with it. Other guys are going to have to step up, but we just have to keep playing.”

Parker also is hurting with a bruised shin. Forward Matt Bonner is playing while wearing a mask after breaking his nose during Friday night’s 109-100 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Spurs, who lead the Southwest Division with a 32-10 record, play in Atlanta against the Hawks on Friday night.
