However, the NBA scribe did not confirm if that’s the case for Poeltl. The Austrian leads the Spurs in rebounds with 7.5 boards per game. He also chips in 13.9 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.1 blocks per contest while anchoring San Antonio’s defense.

Spurs center Jakob Poeltl has entered health and safety protocols and is expected to miss several games, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Poeltl is averaging 13.9 points and 9.7 rebounds for San Antonio so far this season.

Thunder budding star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander thinks claiming another win over the Lakers within a week proves something about themselves. The Canadian guard said he respects every player on the Lakers roster, especially their legends. However, they also wanted to show they could compete against elite teams. 

“We respect their talent, but with that being said, we want to prove ourselves. They’re a team that has a lot of guys that have done a lot of good things, but we want to prove ourselves and compete,” Gilgeous-Alexander told reporters in a post-game press conference.
