Steve Kerr on Durant Pay Cut: ‘Remarkable Gesture’

Warriors coach Steve Kerr seems extremely grateful for Kevin Durant’s willingness to take less than a maximum contract to help keep Golden State’s title-winning core together.
Speaking to the Bay Area News Group on Monday, Kerr called Durant’s two-year, $53 million deal a “remarkable gesture.” “I told him it reminded me a little bit of Tim Duncan and his time with the Spurs,” Kerr said. “He made max money, and then at key times in his career, he took a little less so they could add a player here and there.”
