Timberwolves sign C Fesenko, G Heslip

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Timberwolves announced the signings of center Kyrylo Fesenko and guard Brady Heslip on Thursday. Per team policy, terms of the contracts were not released.

Fesenko, 27, appeared in five games for the Timberwolves’ Summer League team in Las Vegas. He averaged 8.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

The 7-foot-1 center’s best game came in a win over the Phoenix Suns. Fesenko recorded 17 points and eight rebounds in 26 minutes.

He originally was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft. During his five-year NBA career, he has averaged 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.

Heslip, 24, also appeared in five games in Las Vegas. The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 6.2 points per game while making 61.1 percent of his shots. From 3-point range, he made 7 of 10 attempts.

Heslip averaged 11.7 points last season at Baylor. He shot 43.7 percent from 3-point range in 38 games for the Bears.
