Auburn and its new head coach, Bruce Pearl, made some loud noise on Sunday when the Tigers received a commitment from Cinmeon Bowers, who many recruiting services rate as the No. 1 junior college prospect.

Bowers, who at one point was a Florida State signee, tweeted on Sunday that he would play for Pearl and the Tigers. He is a 6-foot-7, 261 pound power forward who averaged 12.4 points and 8.9 rebounds a game for Chipola (Fla.) College last year.

Bowers signed with the Seminoles during the early signing period but was released from his letter of intent after being arrested for eating marijuana in order to conceal it from police. Charges eventually were dropped.
