Wizards’ Coach ‘Loves’ Rookie Kelly Oubre Jr’s Attitude

But it’s beyond early for the first-round pick (Kelly Oubre Jr.) , one that the Wizards view as a long-term project. Coach Randy Wittman said he is not concerned at all given the 19-year-old Oubre’s work ethic and willingness to accept coaching since arriving in the District.
“He’s a young kid, a rookie, first time out, and he’s learning,” Wittman said. “And I love his attitude. He hasn’t put his head down. He hasn’t, I’m sure, got off to the start that he would want to get off, in terms of numbers and how he’s playing.”
