The Wizards have 14 of the maximum 15 roster spots filled with guaranteed contracts. There’s a strong chance they could leave the last spot open when they open the regular season at the Miami Heat on Oct. 29. NBA teams can carry as many as 20 players through the preseason.
Ideally, the Wizards want another shooter/wing scorer to complete the roster. They’ve already reached out to Ray Allen’s agent Jim Tanner, as CSNwashington.com reported recently, to gauge the free agent sharpshooter’s interest.
