The New Orleans Pelicans called up forward James Southerland from the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League on Friday.

Southerland is averaging 14.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 28.6 minutes in 42 with the D-Fenders this season. He played one game with the Charlotte Bobcats earlier this season.

Southerland was an undrafted free agent last year after starring at Syracuse. He was signed by the Pelicans on Thursday.
