Perkins: It was Difficult Turning Down Doc Rivers
Kendrick Perkins heard at least two sales pitches while trying to choose his next team: one from an old coach and one from an old friend.
“Doc? The king?” Perkins said Tuesday. “Uh, I choose the king.”
Perkins chose the Cavs over the Los Angeles Clippers and Doc Rivers, a coach he won a title with in Boston. Perkins acknowledged it was difficult for him to tell Rivers no, but he was so impressed watching the Cavs it made his choice clear.
