Center Kendrick Perkins finalized a buyout with the Utah Jazz on Saturday and will sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Perkins’ decision was first reported by USA Today, and Perkins and LeBron James confirmed it via Twitter.

Perkins, 30, was traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Jazz on Thursday in a three-team deal, and James recruited him to Cleveland, a source told ESPN.com.

The 12-year veteran also received interest from the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs, per ESPN.com.

James tweeted, “The Land welcome my bro as well as my muscle(LOL) @KendrickPerkins to the city with open arms! Happy and thrilled to have u aboard homie!!”

Perkins replied, “I’m on my way!”

In 51 games with the Thunder this season, Perkins averaged 4.0 points and 5.5 rebounds.

It’s another big move for the surging Cavaliers, who have won 15 of their past 17 games and moved into fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a lineup that includes recent trade acquisitions Timofey Mozgov, J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert.
