Sources: Dwane Casey Met with Pistons for Head Coaching Job
Dwane Casey, a front-runner for NBA Coach of the Year, met with Detroit Pistons executives on Thursday to discuss the franchise’s head coaching opening, league sources told ESPN.
Casey interviewed with a Pistons contingent in Michigan that includes new senior adviser Ed Stefanski and coaching-search consultants Bernie Bickerstaff and Jim Lynam, league sources said.
Casey led the Raptors to a franchise-record 59 regular-season victories and an Eastern Conference semifinal appearance, but a second consecutive sweep in the playoffs to Cleveland ended his tenure.
