Spurs’ West Unsure About Future Retirement
(Spurs’ forward David) West signed a two-year deal with the Spurs, with the second year a player option set to pay about $1.5 million for the 2016-17 season. With all the speculation surrounding the futures of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and even Boban Marjanovic (set to be a free agent this offseason), West’s future is also undetermined.
Asked if he’s made a decision, or even thought about it, West followed Duncan’s formula – he’ll wait and listen.
“I have no idea,” West told the Express-News. “I really just want to see what my body tells me when it’s all said and done. I think that’s the best way to put it. My body will tell me what to do and what direction I should go. … You (have) got to have the energy and the will to want to get after it again.”
