Suns sign Barbosa for rest of season

The Phoenix Suns signed guard Leandro Barbosa for the rest of the season on Tuesday.

Barbosa, 31, played nine games over the course of two 10-day contracts and is averaging 8.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 21.4 minutes this season.

Barbosa averaged 12.6 points, 2.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 466 games with the Suns from 2003-10. He is in his 11th NBA season.

He was the 2006-07 NBA Sixth Man of the Year after posting career-highs of 18.1 points and 4.0 assists per game with Phoenix.
