Thunder’s Durant to miss Friday’s game

The only person who can stop red-hot Kevin Durant apparently is himself.
The Oklahoma City forward was to sit out Friday night’s game against the Boston Celtics after he aggravated a shoulder injury in the Thunder’s victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.
While the injury is not considered serious, Thunder coach Scott Brooks is not sure when Durant would return to the lineup. Perry Jones III was to start in his place against the Celtics.
For the first time in Thunder history, both Durant and injured guard Russell Westbrook were not playing.
“We’ll worry about Philly tomorrow,” Brooks said of the Thunder’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday and Durant’s status.
Durant stayed in Wednesday night’s game after hurting the shoulder in the third quarter. He finished with 36 points, his ninth straight game with 30 or more points. The 25-year-old is averaging 37.0 points in January.
