Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade is expected to miss Friday’s critical game against the Indiana Pacers because he is still nursing a hamstring injury.

Wade has missed the Heat’s last seven games due to the injury. That includes Wednesday’s loss at the Memphis Grizzlies. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said earlier this week that Wade is close to returning.

The Heat and Pacers are battling for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Indiana (54-25) heads into Friday’s contest with a 1/2-game lead over Miami (53-25) in the conference standings.

The Pacers did not play any of their starters Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks, but snapped a two-game skid with a 104-102 victory. Indiana is well-rested going into the showdown in Miami.

Wade is averaging 19.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists over 51 games this season.
