The Golden State Warriors are most liable to lose the kind of game they shouldn’t. On Saturday, the Memphis Grizzlies were without their two best players, a statement that doesn’t even begin to convey the extent of their injury-caused depletion. Golden State only lacked center Andrew Bogut, out due to rest reasons, from their rotation.

And so, with all expectations backing an easy victory, the Warriors stayed true to the worst of their qualities, surviving in Memphis, 100-99. For all their greatness, they maintain a reckless streak. They are the team that rides a bike without a helmet.
