The site does offer a great live betting area, one that we feel is only right to highlight in this review.
The site has a casino and racebook too, so those looking for something a little different can enjoy a variety when taking a break from classic sports betting. On the racebook side of things, there’s a lot of racing to go through, especially for events such as the Kentucky Derby, & the Breeders Cup. Casino players will have their choice of table games and slots from software providers like Betsoft, so you can expect games like Good Girl Bad Girl, and Mr. Vegas.
The bonuses that Xbet provides aren’t quite on par with some of the other top online Florida betting sites we’ve listed here, but still provide plenty of bankroll for any players or bettor to get stuck in. Players can make the bonuses work for them separately, so those looking to do sports betting can claim up to a $500 matched bonus as a first deposit bonus on sports. The casino bonus is another $500 for the first deposit bonus that will be matched up to 100%, and both of those still don’t end the list of bonuses, with reloads, rebates, and weekend bonuses to come too.

You can even dive into the Prop markets, such as Chris Paul to score 30 points or more in a game, and there is a prop bet builder that will help facilitate this.
There is also a Request Bets section, which has been named #whatsyawager. Here, you will be able to locate cracking odds for some of the most highly sought-after markets that aren’t widely advertised. Bovada also has a rather neat interface, and it is very user-friendly, so will appeal to all types of bettors.

Describing itself as America’s favorite sports betting site for over 25 years, you can bet on a wide range of sports, and there is also a live stream which is available for those bettors with a registered account.

Is Sports Betting Legal in Florida?
Florida sports betting was supposed to be legal as of October 2015, but a number of lawsuits seem to be holding things back. The Seminole Tribe and Florida governor Ron DeSantis filed briefs in September in support of the gaming compact in the state. After this happened, the Seminole Tribe did launch a Hard Rock Sportsbook app, but was taken down after a month of operation due to a lawsuit.
So, sports betting is kind of in a purgatory at the moment with the Seminole Tribe appealing the lawsuit.
Timeline of Florida Sports Betting Legislation
Online sports betting in the state of Florida has had an exciting trajectory. The online sports betting probability has been in flux since 2015.
Here, we will go over the timeline to bring online sports betting to Florida and where we currently are.
- March 25, 2022 – No movement on the Seminole Tribe appeal.
- March 14, 2022 – Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley is suspended for one year from the NFL after making sports betting wagers on the Hard Rock Sportsbook app in Florida.
- January 2022 – There will be no sports betting referendum up in November 2022 after the required number of signatures cannot be met by February 1, 2022.
- December 2021 – Hard Rock Sportsbook pulls its mobile app after a case between West Flagler Associates and Secretary Deb Haaland ended with West Flagler Associates winning. The Seminole Tribe appealed.
- November 2021 – Hard Rock Sportsbook launches its mobile app for betting via the Seminole Tribe.
- 2021 – Governor Ron DeSantis and the Seminole Tribe agree to a deal for them to offer retail and online betting.
- 2020: Senator Jeff Brandes introduces SB 392, a bill to legalize sports betting in Florida.
- 2019 – Seminole Tribe removes itself from the 2010 agreement due to a racino disagreement. This made it so the state stopped receiving revenue from its operations.
- 2010 – Seminole Tribe receives the rights to offer all forms of gambling.
When will Betting be Legal in Florida?
After initially launching in November 2021, things were looking promising for Florida in terms of sports betting.
However, after the lawsuit in late 2021, no movement on the Seminole Tribe’s appeal, and the failure to get enough signatures by February 1, 2022, it looks like we may need to wait until at least 2023 to get online legal sports betting in Florida.
2023, the Earliest to Try to Legalize Sports Betting in Florida
As of right now, there will not be any sports betting legislature up in 2022. We will not know more about any particular legislature until perhaps later this year or 2023.
Supporters and Opponents of 2022 and 2023’s Ballot for Legal Sports Betting in Florida
While there are no current bills up for grabs when it comes to legalized online sports betting in Florida, we will take a closer look at the lawsuit that resulted in the Hard Rock Sportsbook app being pulled and led us to where we are today.
Offering gaming since 1979, the center of this fiasco is the Seminole Tribe, which launched the Hard Rock Sportsbook app in early November 2021. This came after an agreement with Governor Ron DeSantis to allow them to offer retail and online sports betting.
However, the one aspect to keep in mind here is that the Seminole Tribe wanted to offer this outside Indian Tribal land.
Beyond the Seminole Tribe, Senator Jeff Brandes introduced SB 293 in 2020 to bring online sports betting to the state.
You’re probably wondering what the premise of bringing this lawsuit to the Seminole Tribe in the first place was.
This is quite a maze of information, but the abbreviated version is that West Flagler Associates, who represent Magic City Casino, brought the lawsuit to take down the Hard Rock Sportsbook app, citing Florida Amendment 3.
Under this Amendment, any expansion of gaming must be sent for a vote. In their Memorandum Opinion, the Plaintiff (West Flagler) also cited that bringing the app to the state violates the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, the Wire Act, and the Equal Protection Clause.
However, Amendment 3 doesn’t actually indicate anything related to “sports betting”. Instead, the amendment notes that voters get the “exclusive right to authorize casino gambling in Florida”.
Where Things Stand
After failing to receive enough signatures by February 1, 2022, there will be no referendum for online sports betting in Florida for the November 2022 meeting.
Right now, we are at a standstill as the Seminole Tribe is also appealing the lawsuit with no new updates.
Previous Sports Betting Bills in Florida
- Senate Bill 968: A general sports betting bill that received little consideration.
- Senate Bill 970: Another sports betting bill that died early in the committee’s session.
- Senate Bill 2-A: This will would mean the implementation of 2021 Gaming Compact Between the Seminole Tribe of Florida and the state and would allow for additional games, contests, and sports betting.
- Senate Bill 392: One of a few senate bills that sought to legalize online sports betting but were abandoned after the Seminole Tribe and Florida worked toward a pact.
- Senate Bill 394: Similar to SB-392.
Tax on Sports Betting Winnings in Florida
Without sports betting legalized in Florida, as of right now, we can only turn to the state income tax to get an idea of what you’d pay tax-wise on sports betting winnings.
There is no state income tax in Florida, so there is nothing to worry about on this front.
Payment Methods available at Florida Sportsbooks
No matter what online sportsbook you go to, you will almost always be able to find a payment method that works for you. The availability of these options could differ from online sportsbooks to online sportsbooks, but here, we will go over some ways you may find them.
Crypto Betting Options
With offshore sportsbooks, cryptocurrency is one of the hottest banking methods available. These methods allow for much more flexible deposit and withdrawal limits and faster payouts, and there are even welcome bonuses that cater solely to crypto.
Here are some of the top cryptos accepted at sportsbooks in Florida.
- Bitcoin Cash
- Shiba Inu
eWallet Betting Options
eWallets allow for players to either possess a balance on their eWallet account or perform transactions after linking a bank account. There are a few methods, and they are listed below.
Traditional Payment Methods at Florida Betting Sites
Beyond crypto and eWallets, some players like using more “old school” methods. These methods are few and far between offshore sportsbooks, but some still offer a few traditional methods here and there.
- Wire Transfer
- ACH Transfer
- Check by mail
Bonuses available at Florida Betting Sites
In addition to the different payment methods, you will find in an online sportsbook, the same goes for the welcome bonuses.
Welcome bonuses create the first impression for a new player and offer instant satisfaction via a perk that, in some capacity, improves the way you interface and play on the page.
Let’s cover some of the more popular bonuses we’ve seen.
This is close to the quintessential welcome bonus at online sportsbooks. With this, there will be a specific percentage match and up to a certain dollar amount.
From here, you will be unable to withdraw the bonus funds you receive until you meet the wagering requirements.
For example, if the offer is a 100% match up to $1,000 with a 10x the bonus as the wagering requirement, you will need to wager the bonus you receive multiplied by 10 to withdraw the bonus you receive.
With a risk-free bet welcome bonus, this will apply to the first wager you make on the online sportsbook. After examining the parameters (odds, lines, etc.), you can make your first wager while knowing that, if you lose, you will receive it back in the form of either site credit for a free bet.
The credit you receive back may or may not have wagering requirements, but overall, you will have two chances at wagering.
No Deposit Bonus
With a no deposit bonus, you will receive a sum of site credit simply for signing up. This may only be $10-$20, but this is essentially free money just for creating an account.

- Top 10
- Top 20
- End of Round Leader
With such massive fields of golfers to wager on, picking an outright winner is quite challenging. The field of potential golfers to wager on can be upward of 50 or more.
Bovada pays attention to golf significantly, offering numerous contests and great odds despite the massive field of players.

Horse racing betting has been around in the United States for over 100 years. With great weather, more often than not, we see horse races happen in some of the best conditions.

DFS Has Been a Mainstay since 2010s
Daily fantasy sports allow players to create lineups using players from their favorite sport. Using sites like FanDuel or DraftKings, you are given a salary cap and must generate a lineup within the confines of the cap.
Your winnings reflect the contest payouts and the number of points you score.
Your points are generated based on the player’s singular performance—for example, quarterback passing yards, home runs in baseball, three-pointers in the NBA, etc.
Live Betting with Florida Betting Sites
Live betting allows you to wager on contests actively in progress. The odds for these games fluctuate as the game develops. So, each pitch, each play in football, and each shot made in the NBA can change the odds.
At BetOnline, there is an entire page dedicated to this, including a menu on the left-hand side of the page that filters each sport for you to choose from and the games available.
Bets that are Illegal in Florida
Generally speaking, there are no wager types that are illegal to make in each state. However, where it can become unlawful is, in certain states, wagering on college teams located in the state.
However, this will not be part of any future sports betting laws enacted in Florida whenever it does become legal. Sports betting is illegal altogether, but you can make wagers using offshore books.
How Florida Sports Betting Stacks Up to Bordering States
However, like in Florida, you can still wager by using any of our recommended offshore sportsbooks, as these provide excellent value for bettors as they await legislature in Florida to pass.

Although the arrangement with the Seminole Tribe included retail sports betting, there is no way to wager on sports in-person right now.
