Senior guard Derrick Marks scored 19 points, helping the Boise State Broncos knock off the visiting San Diego State Aztecs 61-46 on Sunday evening at Taco Bell Arena in Boise, Idaho.

Sophomore forward James Webb III scored 17 points and sophomore forward Nick Duncan added 12 for Boise State (17-6, 7-3 Mountain West Conference), which has won seven in a row.

Senior forward J.J. O’Brien had 18 points and 10 rebounds for San Diego State (18-6, 8-3), which had won seven of its last eight games. Junior forward Winston Shepard had 12 points and six rebounds.

Duncan’s hot shooting helped Boise State build a big lead in the first half. Duncan made three 3-pointers in a span of 60 seconds, giving the Broncos a 17-4 lead with 11:58 remaining in the opening period. They extended their lead to 17 points before the Aztecs mounted an 8-0 run to narrow the gap.

Boise State led 30-18 at the break. The Aztecs staged a 10-0 run early in the second half, cutting the deficit to 34-30 on a layup by senior guard Aqeel Quinn with 15:01 to play. The Broncos quickly regained control, outscoring the Aztecs 9-2 over the next 3:43 to reestablish a double-digit lead.
