LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Fourth-ranked Duke bounced back from a two-game losing streak to overpower No. 6 Louisville 63-52 in Atlantic Coast Conference game on Saturday at the KFC Yum! Center.

The Blue Devils (15-2, 3-2 ACC) gave coach Mike Krzyzewski the 998th victory of his career.

“Obviously we are ecstatic about the win,” Krzyzewski said. “They missed shots and we were lucky about that. We feel fortunate to win.”

Duke was in control much of the way in shaking off double-digit losses to North Carolina State and Miami, the latter ending a 41-game winning streak at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Forward Amile Jefferson led the Blue Devils with 19 points and seven rebounds, while 6-foot-11 freshman center Jahlil scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half and also had seven boards.

Louisville (15-3, 3-2 in its first year in the ACC) shot only 29.5 percent from the floor (18 of 61) and made 4 of 25 shots from 3-point range.

“I just want to give credit to Duke,” Louisville coach Rick Pitino said. “They played a really good game. They took a lot away from us.”

Guard Terry Rozier led Louisville with 17 points.
