Devon Walker scored 16 points as Maryland-Eastern Shore extended its winning streak to four games with a 63-60 victory over host Tennessee-Martin at the Elam Center in Martin, Tennessee.

Mike Myers went 6 of 9 from the floor and scored 14 points for the Hawks, who evened their season record at 8-8.

Deville Smith had 15 points for Tennessee Martin (7-5), while Marshun Newell added 14 points. UT-Martin opened a four-game homestand after playing nine of its first 11 games on the road.

After the game was tied at 26 at the break, Walker made a 3-pointer and layup to provide UMES with a 37-30 lead with 15:38 left. A jumper by Ryan Andino extended the lead to 46-40 lead with just under 10 minutes remaining.

UT-Martin then stormed back as a 3-pointer by Newell, and a layup and free throw by Javier Martinez pulled the Skyhawks to within 53-52 with 4:29 left. A free throw by Twymond Howard gave the UT-Martin a 54-53 lead with 3:27 remaining.

The teams then traded shots before Deville Smith made a jumper and the Skyhawks led 60-59 with just over a minute remaining. However, Martin answered for UMES with a short jumper and a pair of free throws and the Hawks led 63-60 with 18 seconds left to eventually seal the win.
