Bobcats teammates Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Kemba Walker had a friendly bet going on last night as both enjoyed their former schools competing in the championship game. As you can see by Michael’s face (as well as Kemba’s), the game didn’t end the way Kentucky and MKG had hoped. This was much to the pleasure of UConn alum Walker.

Major props have to go out to the newly-minted champs of the college basketball landscape. UConn, led by senior guard Shabazz Napier, was able to withstand Kentucky’s talent and add yet another trophy to UConn’s decorated case.

While Kentucky may have lost, freshman guard James Young didn’t go down without a huge highlight. Check out as Young takes on nearly the entire UConn defense and still throw down the vicious hammer. With his talent, athleticism and shooting stroke, Young looks ready to help an NBA team next year if he chooses.

Former UConn great Rip Hamilton is just starting to get the chance to be more of a fan nowadays and he got to enjoy sweet victory last night as the Huskies hoisted another championship trophy. Known Kentucky fan and rapper Drake wasn’t able to show the same excitement for this photo, but he still showed enough class to snap a quick shot with Hamilton.
