The Funny, Stupid Thing of the Day
Lakers guard Nick Young believes everybody can be a super hero as long as they rock a cape.
Dunks of the Day
Team USA and Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan cuts through the Dominican Republic’s defense effortlessly for this slam.
That screaming you hear is the Dominican Republic’s coach hollering at his team to block out Team USA and Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried as he soars in for a tip slam. Faried is a certified beast, so maybe that wouldn’t have even mattered.
Instagram of the Day
You already know who Nuggets guard and Seattle native Nate Robinson is rooting for in tonight’s opening game of the NFL.
Incredible illustrator Andy Gellenberg put together this very cool portrait of Cavaliers star LeBron James composed entirely of Nike swooshes. Check out more of Gellenberg’s unique work as he loves to cover famous sports figures.
YouTube of the Day
Famous boxer Manny Pacquiao is an avid basketball fan and recently made a stop at the Warriors practice facility to show he can ball too. All we can say, we would be fearful of playing again Pac Man, regardless of his basketball skills.
Congratulations Russell Westbrook!
We must take off our hats to Thunder guard Russell Westbrook popping the question to his long time girlfriend Nina Earl. Congratulations to the happy couple!
Cheerleaders of the Day
The Kings cheerleaders aren’t messing around and are ready for next season. We may need to get some court side seats in Sacramento to get a closer look.
Next Man Up? Meet Malik Newman
Class of 2015 6’3 guard Malik Newman has some of the craziest finishing skills we’ve seen on the high school scene. SEC schools are all over this kid hailing from Jackson, Mississippi and more should be jumping on this young man after next year. Opponents just need to get out of this kid’s way, because it seems like Malik gets to the hoop no matter what they try.
Kicks of the Day
Got to love these sick KD VII’s in all these sweet colors. We’ll take any of these choices, but would love if somebody set aside the pair of the red and whites.
Swag of the Day
Nothing like seeing family swag spanning four generations to know they’re working it. Congrats to the men of Dorell Wright’s family for keeping their fashion sense strong.
