Forward LaDontae Henton scored 22 points, guard Kris Dunn added 12 points and 14 assists, and Providence dominated Navy for an 88-51 win Thursday night at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, R.I.

Forward Ben Bentil added 18 points for the Friars (3-0). Providence made 11 of 21 3-point attempts and 55.4 percent of its shots from the floor overall.

Forward James Hemphill led the Midshipmen (0-3) with 10 points. Forward Edward Alade added nine points and a team-high five rebounds.

Navy hit just 38.8 percent of its field-goal attempts and four of 17 3-point tries.

The Friars blocked seven shots without have one of their attempts rejected.

Providence led 40-20 at halftime and 82-38 late in the second half.

The Friars dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Midshipmen 36-24. Dunn pulled down a game-high seven boards.

Navy competed with No. 18 Michigan State at home in its season opener during a 64-59 loss Nov. 14. Since then, the Midshipmen have struggled. They absorbed a 39-point loss at Notre Dame on Sunday.

The Friars opened with a tight win over Albany before blowing out Binghamton. Providence plays Florida State in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday in Uncasville, Conn. Navy also will play in Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, facing Northeastern.
