Saint Peter’s senior forward Marvin Dominique had 18 points and nine rebounds as the Peacocks overcame a double-digit deficit in the second half for a 69-60 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday at the Yanitelli Center in Jersey City, N.Y.

FDU (4-6) took a nine-point lead into halftime and a quick jumper made it 11 just out of the break. But a 16-0 run by Saint Peter’s during a four-minute span put the Peacocks up 47-41 with 12:47 remaining, their biggest lead of the game and first since it was 7-6.

The Knights battled back to retake the lead and were up 59-55 with 3:43 remaining when the offensive wheels fell off. Fairleigh Dickinson scored one point the rest of the way, committing three turnovers and missing five shots from the field during the final stretch as Saint Peter’s (5-7) closed the game on a 14-2 run.

Saint Peter’s frontcourt outrebounded Fairleigh Dickinson 38-29. Dominique led all players in rebounds and tied for the game high in scoring.

Peacocks senior guard Tyler Gaskins added 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field and senior guard Desi Washington had eight of his 17 at the free throw line.
