The five Duke starters scored all of the team’s points, but that was enough for the second-ranked Blue Devils to post a 66-56 win over Connecticut in a nonconference game in East Rutherford, N.J., on Thursday.

Guard Tyus Jones scored 21 points to lead Duke (10-0). Center Jahlil Okafor added 12 points and 10 rebounds, and forward Amile Jefferson contributed 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Connecticut (4-4) received a game-high 22 points from guard Ryan Boatright. Forward Kentan Facey finished with 14 points and nine rebounds.

The Blue Devils led 30-25 at halftime, but the Huskies scored the first five points of the second half to tie the game. Duke regained control with a 15-2 run, with all the points scored in the paint or at the foul line.

Virginia 70, Cleveland State 54

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — After a 12-day exam break, the sixth-ranked Cavaliers shook off the rust and downed the Viking. Virginia improved to 10-0, its best start since 2000-01.

The Cavaliers led by as many as 20 points in the second half before fighting off pesky Cleveland State.

Guards Justin Anderson and Malcolm Brogdon led the Cavaliers with 16 points apiece. Anderson added five rebounds and three assists. Forward Anthony Gill scored 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Cleveland State (5-6) got a game-high 18 points from guard Trey Lewis.
