Teague, Ellis named conference players of week
Atlanta Hawks guard Jeff Teague and Dallas Mavericks guard Monta Ellis were named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively.
Teague led the Hawks to a 3-1 week, which included wins over the Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat. He averaged 20.3 points, 5.8 assists (both eighth in the conference) and 1.75 steals (tied for ninth in the conference). Teague had 25 points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists during a 98-85 win over the Miami Heat on Saturday.
Ellis helped the Mavericks to a 2-1 record, which included wins over the Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns. He averaged 25.7 points (seventh in the conference), 4.7 assists and 4.0 rebounds. Ellis connected on 15-of-23 field goals en route to a game-high 37 points on Saturday.
Both teams clinch playoff spots.
