The Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors engaged in a heated exchange in the tunnel that connects the teams’ locker rooms at Staples Center after Saturday night’s game, according to USA Today.

After the Clippers eliminated the Warriors from the playoffs with a 126-121 victory in Game 7 of their first-round series, the teams got into a verbal confrontation with each other.

Police were called to assist, but it is believed that no punches were thrown.

Several players from both teams were involved. Warriors forward Marreese Speights and Clippers point guard Chris Paul were reportedly among the aggressors.

Matt Barnes and Glen Davis of the Clippers and Jermaine O’Neal, Stephen Curry and Steve Blake of the Warriors were also involved. Warriors coach Mark Jackson was also named as being on the scene when the incident escalated.

Sources told USA Today that loud celebrating by the Clippers in the hallway and remarks made by Clippers players or coaches as they passed the Warriors’ locker room may have sparked the exchange.
