Four Detroit players scored in double figures as the Titans used a second-half surge to beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 69-55 in Monday’s first round Progressive Legends Classic tournament game at Toledo’s Savage Arena.

Guard Anton Wilson scored 14 points while forward Juwan Howard Jr. added 12 for the Titans (3-2). Guard Brandan Kearney and forward Paris Bass added 11 points each, respectively, in the first-ever meeting between the teams.

Forward Mike Myers paced Maryland-Eastern Shore (1-5) with a game-high 21 points while guard Ryan Andino and guard Devin Martin each had 11. The Hawks dropped their third straight.

Andino’s running jumper with 34 seconds left in the first half lifted the Hawks to a 29-27 halftime lead.

Detroit executed an 11-point swing to take command in the second half. Trailing 45-39 with 11:50 remaining, the Titans went on a 14-3 run behind six points from Bass to open a 53-48 lead with 6:14 showing.

Bass was named Horizon League freshman of the week earlier Monday after averaged 9.3 points and four rebounds in three games last week.

Detroit winner faces the winner of Monday’s Bucknell-Toledo matchup for the championship at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Maryland-Eastern Shore takes on the loser at 4:30 p.m.
